Why find your body shape?
The most common forms of body are : X, V, A, 8, H and not forgetting O.
This method is a good begin to look at adapted outfits and easily highlight your assets !
However, a woman is often a mix of several body shape, often neither quite H or A or V… so with advices or more experience, you will know how to dress with your own femininity’s attributes.
But let’s look at your X, V, A, 8, H and O shape !
To know your shape, you can stand up in front of your mirror by wearing underwear, and joining the feet. You will look at your shoulders, your bust, your waist and your hips.
Sometimes it helps to get an “external” view.
Here is are the different shapes :
Your body shape is A
The width of your shoulders, standing right in front of the mirror (from your left shoulder to your right shoulder) is less important than the width of your hips (from your left hip to your right hip). If this is the case you buy smaller sizes for your tops (T-shirt, blouse etc.) than for your pants. You have rather broad and low hips, round and fleshy buttocks, strong thighs, narrow shoulders, a small chest and a distinct waist.

Your body shape is V
The V-shape is the opposite shape to A. Standing in front your mirror. You have a upper body wider than the bottom. Your shoulders are wide and your chest may be voluminous. You may be a former or a current athlete . But you do not need to be a true athlete to have wide shoulders. Some women are born with rather broad shoulders and, contrary, this shape is elegant and charming in outfits adapted to them. In all cases, you probably buy in larger size for your tops (T-shirt, blouse etc.) than your pants.

Your body shape is X
You see in the mirror a width of shoulders and hips are similar and therefore well aligned. On the other hand your waist is slim and marked. You can have a generous or tiny chest provided that your shoulders and hips are about the same width. You consider yourself as slim. You should know that the X silhouette is the shape considered as ideal. Congrats! It is the easiest shape to dress because all forms of clothing fit you perfectly well. What luck !

Your body shape is 8
The shape in X and the shape in 8 are very similar. Women in 8 are even more luscious than women in X. You see that the width of your shoulders and your hips are similar and therefore well aligned. Your chest is voluminous and your hips are strong to allow you to line up with your shoulders. On the other hand your size is fine and marked. Your shapes are in the overallity “rounded”, the woman in 8 per excellence is unquestionably Marylin Monroe.

Your body shape is H
Facing your mirror, you see a shoulder width and hips similar. And your waist is not especially fine or even marked, when you look at your bust, you can tell that it is rather in line with your hips and shoulders. You do not especially have chest or buttocks, you are rather long and globally your body shape is straight. The size is the only difference with the X silhouette.
